problems with main forum refresh/load

last two days, been experiencing a hangup when going from a viewed topic back to the subforum or to the main forum.
server times out.
using Firefox
no other website I visit is having issues.

Yeah, a couple days ago I was having server timeouts on DC. Also using firefox. Not so much today or yesterday, I don't think.

Here too. Some other sites are slow to open, but DC is really bad.

it's pretty good for a phpbb message board; better than most.

the database grows ever larger. i don't know as much about phpbb3, but phpbb2 built the tables poorly. i was literally optimizing tables with overhead every single morning to keep refresh times down and to prevent the site from pulling too much cpu. and there was less activity on my friend's forum than there is here.

all things considered, this board loads pretty well and is very quick.

I tried that too and got the same message. With the second option it didn't recognize forum.darwincentral.org.

ETA nevermind, I got it to work but can't copy.

Got lots of timeouts here today too.
