Sleep quality 'improves with age'

The belief that older people tend to suffer worse sleep may be false - in fact the reverse may be true, according to US researchers.
A telephone survey of more than 150,000 adults suggested that, apart from a blip in your 40s, sleep quality gets better with age.
Those in their 80s reported the best sleep, says the study in Sleep journal.

Not according to my experience, but then, I am not one of their >150000 interviewees, nor yet anywhere near 80 [and who knows whether I'll make it to 80].

It's working for me. I think my sleep cycle cycles about a third faster.

I hate going to sleep. I'd rather rage against the dying of the light. Getting up in the morning is a bit of a struggle, too.

But I seem to get by with much less sleep than I used to, even when I have no constraints on how long I sleep.

I need less sleep because I sleep more efficiently.

Just as you master the art of a perfect night's sleep, you don't wake up.
