Is there a related article or link somewhere?

The related article is the one RWP posted above. In the comments, a fool named Justin takes him to task for his good sense. RWP referred to him as "Jason" (through understandable and entirely appropriate inattention). In my reply to RWP, I used the name "Justin", per the article. NicknamedBob assumed that my referring to "Jason" as "Justin" was due to a lack of reading comprehension on my part, and so referred to me as "Fezziwig", a character in Dickens's A Christmas Carol, whose name sounds as much like "Physicist" as "Justin" sounds like "Jason". I in turn adapted the name to a euphemism for "fucking", to take the edge off the otherwise harsh demand, "Read The Fucking Article".

Suppose for a minute that Justin was right about Ehrlich "not foreseeing" the Green Revolution.

Is "could not possibly have foreseen" ever a valid excuse for a failure on the part of somebody whose whole shtick is claiming to predict the future?

Are there really things that are unforeseeable, even to those who trvly have the Gift of Prophecy?

I don't think real prophets, like The Stupendous Yappi, would ever resort to such a lame excuse as "I couldn't possibly have foreseen that."

I would have used Fezzik from The Princess Bride.

Alrightythen.
I thought it might have been something intelligent (knowing full well who the character Fezziwig was, and from where)
like a response to RWP's article written under the pseudonym 'Fezziwig' that might have been interesting or otherwise had some value.

Ouch! That's going to leave a mark!

*Checks*

Nope, no mark. Still blithely trundling unremarkably along.

Thanks, Physicist, for straightening out my thinking about where the error came from initially, though.

That's really funny. It seems everyone swears by a doomsday prophet these days. It's almost like it makes them feel good to be convinced that everything is falling apart. They want to live in fear. So they listen to these sham prophets and turn each of them into a celebrity and then wonder why their blood pressure is so high and why they always feel anxious. When you immerse yourself in doomsday ideology, your health will inevitably be effected.
