Well, it sure puts a new slant on 'Nothing Runs Like A Deere', don't it? -- "OMG Political controversy!? Run away, run away!"Sam Cree wrote:...
I see that John Deere is on the list. Probably a sure thing that their customer base, farmers, want to boycott Rush, right?

It would be good for the company to hear from its customers. I can imagine a few calls to sales people and it would start getting back to HQ.

It's probably not a good idea to politicize the economy. But chances are, it's a bit too late for that.

If I owned Clear Channel, I'd simply tell them:
"You want to control the content, buy Clear Channel, if you've got big enough dicks to pee in my pool, which I doubt. Until then, shut the fuck up. Oh, and I'm raising my advertising rates 30% across the board, across all shows. You want to fuck with me, you can pay for the privilege. Oh, and I've already passed Rush some of the more interesting product-liability suits filed against your companies. How would you like that shit broadcast over the Golden EIB Microphone during their commercial breaks? Your competitors might decide to buy the airtime and not even advertise, just to let Rush badmouth your crappy product; how would you know? How would your newly-made butt-fuck buddies at Media Matters know who to boycott? Of course, you could just pay a 50% premium over my new 30% higher ad rates to keep adverse shit about your products off the air. Think about it, friends. I own the transponders on those birds, not you."
I'd also organize a counter-boycott against Media Matters, and I'd probably do some stuff to rat-fuck them (false leaks from inside Clear Channel to wrong-foot them, that sort of thing).
You try to extort me, I will do anything within the letter of the law to return the favor. I was trained early on in life to close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver, and to repel the enemy's assault by fire and close combat. The life experience carries over well into commerce. Business is war, baby, and I was trained to fight wars long before I was trained in business.
